spring dreaming..
i honestly can't believe it's snowing. again. i know it's winter, but i've never seen it like this in NY! the problem is that any pretty white flakes that fall from the sky quickly turn to icky brown slush and piles of gross brown ice on the ground. also, i can't see my feet very well anymore, so getting around has become difficult! so for now, i'm dreaming of warmer days that will be sure to follow... eventually. here are some cute spring looks to look forward to..

tiny toes!
who doesn't love babies feet?! those tiny little toes are just too much to resist! we've been able to feel our little one's feet poking and kicking for a while now and honestly i can't wait to kiss all ten of her little tiny toes! from what i've gathered, shoes for a baby during the first few months is silly. mostly we have gotten socks and a few pairs of knit booties. but i couldn't resist these cute pairs for when she is a bit older..

I just had to show a few of the AMAZING gifts I received... many of them handmade by my incredibly talented friends!!
These prints were done by Jenny Bowskill. They're reproductions of illustrations from a Polish children's book. Serious ♥

Sian Keegan made the adorable bunny and the lovely ball. I love her fabric choices! So talented!!
In addition to throwing the shower, making a lot of the food and decorations as well as the invitations, Jen also made these adorable his and hers diaper-to-go bags. Each little kit contains 2 diapers, a disposable changing pad, wipes, burts bees diaper cream and a little onesie just in case. Genius and darling!!
Some of the fun soft and cuddly and warm gifts the wee one received...
We also received this amazing hand crocheted sweater from baby girl's nana in Idaho. It's the most gorgeous salmon color. I cannot wait to see her in it!!

Showered in ♥
This past weekend, my friends threw me a shower here in Brooklyn. Yes, that makes 3 showers in total! I am feeling incredibly blessed to be surrounded by such lovingly supportive friends and family. I am one lucky girl!! And so is this baby girl in my ever expanding belly! The shower was at my friend Jen's apartment- and she went above and beyond with the food and decorations. Everything was so BEAUTIFUL! She is creative and meticulous and is really quite the party planner! 2 of my oldest and dearest friends Laura and Jamie came in from out of town (as well as my mom!!) and also helped plan the shower. It truly was a labor of love and I am incredibly grateful. It was such a wonderful day that I still have a big silly smile on my face! Thank you!!!
such a sweet banner that Jen made (she included matching tiny flags on the invites as well). Laura made the favors which were filled with some of my favorite treats- honees, gummy bears and red vines. So sweet!
I loved all the amazing details like these flags that Jamie made for the sandwiches
amazing spread of food.. finger sandwiches, veggies and fruit, homemade breads, cheese, cream puffs!
In addition to being a fantastic party planner, Jen is an amazing baker. This cake tasted as incredible as it looks!

Happy New Year
Happy New Year to all! i hope you had nice break and got to relax and eat good food and spend time with lovely people. i know i did ♥ we've been snowed in here in the northeast.. a crazy blizzard barreled through last weekend and left the city immobilized for days and days. which was okay with me because i was lucky enough to have the entire week off! i certainly wasn't able to do all that i had planned, but it was nice to have an excuse to hang out at home and spend hours crafting and working on a few projects...
that's the middle of the street that Andrew is standing in..
some of these side streets didn't get plowed for a few days!
cozy and warm inside and working on baby blanket no. 2
i finally got these bibs made!
a walk through the gowanus canal to carroll gardens for lunch and errands..
