Tulum

For some of us in the NE, March is when the true cabin fever sets in. We've been cooped up for months and the initial charm of cozy days and nights by the fire crafting and drinking copious amounts of red wine begins to wear off. We want OUT! Luckily for us, this year we were able to plan an escape to the Mayan Riviera. Though we planned the trip months ago, it really couldn't have come at a better time. There is nothing quite like sitting on a beach under the warm sun with a light breeze kissing your skin and staring off into the vast horizon. For me, it is a return to the natural rhythms of the world. The purifying nature of floating effortlessly in turquoise waters.. the continuous crashing of the waves against the shore quiets my mind. In this stillness, a calm comes over me and with it comes peace. I am filled with an overwhelming sense that everything is going to be alright...
